Grounded in Science, Growing in Community: WIBA 2026 in Chicago

March 25, 20263 min read

Every year, the WIBA Conference offers more than sessions and CEUs. It is a gathering built around the lives, work, and leadership journeys of women in behavior analysis.

For 2026 in Chicago, our theme captures that spirit in one statement:

"Grounded In Science, Growing in Community"

This year, WIBA is honoring the balance between scientific excellence and human connection.

We are grounded in the research, data, and ethical practices that define behavior analysis, and we grow through mentorship, shared experiences, advocacy, and the collective strength of women supporting women.

Grounded in Science

Behavior analysis is built on rigorous methods and clear-eyed measurement. At WIBA 2026, being “grounded in science” means:

  • Evidence-based content that showcases current research, applied work, and innovation across settings and populations.

  • Translation into practice, with presenters focused on turning data into tools, strategies, and decision-making you can use immediately.

  • Ethical reflection, examining how we uphold the standards of the field while navigating real-world constraints and complexities.

We are committed to creating a program that respects the science, wrestles honestly with challenges, and moves the field forward.

Growing in Community

No one builds a meaningful career alone. We grow through the people who teach us, support us, and stand with us.

At WIBA 2026, “growing in community” will show up through:

  • Mentorship and connection between students, early-career professionals, and established leaders.

  • Spaces for real conversation about identity, leadership, equity, burnout, and sustainable careers in behavior analysis.

  • Women supporting women, amplifying voices that have historically been underrepresented and celebrating the breadth of paths within the field.

Community here is not a side benefit; it is part of the design.

Volunteer at WIBA 2026

WIBA runs on the energy and generosity of volunteers who care about both the science and the people behind it.

Volunteering at WIBA 2026 is an opportunity to:

  • Play a direct role in creating a welcoming, efficient experience for attendees

  • Build relationships with speakers, organizers, and fellow professionals

  • Gain behind-the-scenes insight into how a major conference comes together

Typical volunteer needs include areas such as attendee support, room hosting, registration, and community-building activities.

If you are interested in contributing your time and skills, please visit the official WIBA 2026 website for current roles, expectations, and how to apply, or look for volunteer information in upcoming conference communications.

Skool Leaderboard Challenge: Win Your Way to WIBA Chicago

Our 2026 theme is about staying rooted in the science while growing together all year long. That is exactly what WIBA Skool and the Skool Leaderboard Challenge are designed to do.

WIBA Skool is the online community where the WIBA experience continues between conferences. It is a dedicated space for women and allies in behavior analysis to stay connected, share resources, and support each other beyond the few days we spend together in person.

The Skool Leaderboard Challenge rewards the members who actively strengthen that community. From now until June 30, you can earn points inside WIBA Skool by:

  • Sharing helpful insights and experiences

  • Posting resources that support others in the field

  • Encouraging and engaging with fellow members

Those points move you up the community leaderboard and give you the chance to win a free ticket to WIBA Chicago, while you build genuine connections and contribute to the growth of the field all year long.

To see how the challenge works and how to start climbing the leaderboard, log in to WIBA Skool and look for the Leaderboard Challenge details there. If you are not yet a member, you can join Skool through the WIBA website and immediately become part of this ongoing, supportive community.

If you believe the future of behavior analysis depends on both uncompromising science and a strong, connected community, we invite you to be part of WIBA 2026 in Chicago: as an attendee, as a volunteer, and as an active member of the WIBA Skool community.
