How To Get to Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk for Women in Behavior Analysis 2026
Travel should be one of the easiest parts of your conference. This guide walks you through the simplest ways to get to Chicago and to the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk, 301 E North Water Street.
1. Flying Into Chicago
Chicago has two major airports.
O’Hare International Airport (ORD)
About 17–18 miles from the hotel.
Most major and international airlines.
Easiest budgetoption:
Follow signs for “CTA Trains” and take the BlueLine toward downtown.
Get off at Clark/Lake.
From there, it is about a 10–15-minute taxi or ride share to the Sheraton, or a 15–20-minute walk along the Riverwalk if you are packing light.
Easiest door to door: taxi or rideshare directly from the airport, typically 35–60 minutes depending on traffic.
Midway International Airport (MDW)
About 10–12 miles from the hotel.
Main hub for Southwest and many domestic routes.
Option 1, train plus short ride:
Follow signs for “CTA Trains” and take the OrangeLine toward downtown.
Exit at Roosevelt or Harold Washington Library, then take a short taxi or ride share to the hotel.
Option 2, direct: taxi or ride share to the Sheraton, usually 25–45 minutes outside rush hour.
2. Coming By Train
South Shore Line from South Bend, IN
The South Shore Line is a commuter train that runs between South Bend, Indiana and Chicago’s Millennium Station, with stops in Northwest Indiana cities such as Michigan City, Gary, Hammond, and East Chicago.
Take the South Shore Line into Millennium Station in downtown Chicago.
From Millennium Station, it is about a 15–20-minute walk to the Sheraton or a 5–10-minute taxi or ride share.
Metra (Suburban Commuter Rail)
Metra trains from the suburbs arrive at Ogilvie Transportation Center or Union Station.
From either station, plan on a 10–20-minute taxi or ride share to the hotel.
Amtrak
Amtrak trains arrive at Union Station.
From Union Station, take a taxi or ride share, usually 10–20 minutes depending on traffic.
3. Getting Around On CTA
If you plan to explore the city:
The closest CTA rail stop to the hotel is Grand on the Red Line. It isroughly a10-minute walk from the station to the Sheraton.
You can buy single rides or 1 day passes at any CTA station.
In summer, walking along the Chicago Riverwalk from the Loop up to the hotel is a pleasant option, especially in the evening.
4. Summer Travel Tips for July
Weather: Expect warm days and mild nights. Hotels and trains are air conditioned, so bring a light layer.
Traffic:Build in extra time if you land during weekday rush hours, roughly 7–9 a.m. and 4–7 p.m.
Walking: The Sheraton sits directly on the Riverwalk in a very walkable area, so comfortable shoes are your friend.
