Genae A. Hall, Ph.D., BCBA-D, is the BACA research director and consultant, part of the BACA clinical team.
In this consulting role, Dr. Hall works with a research assistant and the BACA staff to build a research department and carry out studies within the center. Specifically, she plans to carry out a number of projects designed to evaluate procedures for teaching verbal behavior, social skills and other functional behaviors to the individuals with autism served at BACA.
Dr. Hall has a history of analyzing and writing about B.F. Skinner’s analysis of verbal behavior. She has conducted several research projects on verbal behavior and other topics in the field of behavior analysis. She has published in The Analysis of Verbal Behavior; the Journal of Experimental Analysis of Behavior; and the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis.
Currently serving as the co-director of Behavior Analysis and Intervention Services (BAIS), Dr. Hall works with the behavior consulting group to provide services to children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. Other past positions include: psychologist for Sonoma Developmental Center and Agnews Developmental Center in California; behavior analysis specialist for the Regional Center of the East Bay in California; and behavior programming specialist for May Institute for Autistic Children in Massachusetts.
Originally from Carmel, Calif., Dr. Hall graduated magna cum laude and received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of California Santa Barbara. She received her Master of Arts in psychology with a specialization in applied behavior analysis from Western Michigan University, where she was advised by Dr. Jack Michael. She received her doctorate in psychology with a specialization in behavior analysis from West Virginia University, where she was advised by Dr. Kennon A. Lattal.
Dr. Hall joins BACA’s nationally-recognized clinical team, with visiting consultants from across the country who come to BACA on a regular basis to consult with staff and clients as well as deliver training sessions. Dr. Hall is a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International and the California Association for Behavior Analysis.
